The study aimed at establishing the effects of the discrete steps of the scientific method affect the inquiry and perceptions of both the teachers and learners. The hypothesis guiding the study was that the application of the discrete steps in scientific methods leads to a distraction of students from inquiries that are otherwise productive. It also sways the attention of teachers from the learners. The researcher used a sample comprising of students in their ninth grade and their teacher. The teacher required the students to brainstorm some of the ways through which they could conduct an environmental study on the habitat of earthworms. The scientific method was employed to identify the inquiry perceptions of the teachers and students in a science classroom.
